Wolf studied law in Tübingen and Freiburg. In 1988 he joined Bruckhaus Westrick Stegemann. In 1992 he became a partner and he moved with his team to the Berlin office in 1997. At Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, he established and built up the Environment, Planning and Regulatory Group. He also founded and led their global Low Carbon Energy Group. Wolf receives top ratings in national and international rankings for environmental and public law. He speaks German and English.

Background
Jakob studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms-University of Münster. He specialised in public law with a particular focus on regulatory and environmental matters. He completed his legal training in the Circuit of the Higher Regional Court of Hamm, working inter alia for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Düsseldorf in the EPR practice group and another law firm in the planning, regulation and environment practice group. After completing his legal training, Jakob Zywitz worked as a research assistant at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP and POSSER SPIETH WOLFERS & PARTNERS, both in Düsseldorf. He was admitted to the bar in 2020.
