Dr. Philipp Overkamp advises companies and the public sector on issues of German and European environmental, planning and constitutional law as well as renewable energy law. Background
Dr. Philipp Overkamp studied law at the University of Münster. He was awarded a doctoral scholarship by the German National Academic Foundation and worked as a research assistant at a public law chair at Bucerius Law School. He received his doctorate there with a thesis on the constitutional framework of climate protection legislation in the electricity sector. After his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court, including stints at the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and a major law firm, Dr. Philipp Overkamp worked as a lawyer in a Hamburg commercial law firm with a focus on energy law. He was subsequently a law clerk at the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany for two years, where he worked in the departments of Judge Prof. Dr. Gabriele Britz and Judge Prof. Dr. Martin Eifert, LL.M., dealing primarily with constitutional issues of public environmental and property law, climate protection, planning and regulatory law.
Dr. Philipp Overkamp is a lecturer at Bucerius Law School and Leuphana University of Lüneburg. He ist the author of various publications on constitutional, european, environmental and energy law.
